Performance Training

Sports performance training is a type of training that is designed to improve your fitness level for the purpose of improving your ability to perform in a sport. It involves strength training, conditioning, corrective and restorative exercises, sports specific techniques and drills, and consistent accountability and monitoring by a qualified trainer.

  • Injury Prevention

Injuries are inevitable in sports, and you can't play if you're injured. Often, injuries prevent athletes from reaching their goals. However, a comprehensive, well-organized, strength training program can greatly reduce the chances of an injury. Performance training can help promote growth, increases in strength, and resilience to the stresses and impact forces sustained in athletic activities. The bottom line is performance training is essential for all athletes in injury deterrence.

  • Flexibility

Flexibility, which is the ability to move a joint through its complete range of motion, can improve muscular strength and endurance, and sport-specific training. Flexibility can also decrease soreness and stiffness and is a key component in preventing injuries through unimpeded, fluid movement. You will find that your athletes demonstrate more power, speed, agility, and flexibility as a result of a comprehensive performance training program.

  • Strength

Strength is the foundation of a great athlete in every sport. When an athlete develops his/her strength, their performance develops with it. Performance training puts an emphasis on improving strength and specific skill work relative to one’s sport and position. The result is a highly efficient, explosive athlete.

  • Balance

Performance training is designed to increase lateral movement, reaction time, hand-eye coordination, and areas of weakness with proper program design. Building a strong foundation and then establishing proper movement technique and body control in sport-specific situations will drastically improve an athlete’s performance. Often, a good player turns into a great player by simply learning proper posture, knee drive, landing mechanics, mind to body connections, and establishing fundamental movement patterns through performance training.
